Apple’s brand new iOS 8 operating system has been updated. An iOS 8.1 beta is now deploying to developers for app development, according to TechnoBuffalo.
Nearly Ready
The article also says the wait is nearly over and the OS is almost ready for consumer consumption: “Earlier rumors claim the final version will be released to consumers in a little less than two weeks from now, so this could be the last beta before it’s ready for primetime.” That means all supported devices can be upgraded, including the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
The new beta version brings a bevy of changes to the platform, which are mostly centered around developing apps for iOS 8 and OS X. However, if you are an interested app developer, iOS 8.1 beta is currently available for download.
Stability Is Crucial
If you are not a developer, you may want to wait for Apple to work out the kinks. According to Business Insider, the new operating system has seen slower adoption rates than iOS 7. This is arguably a one-off situation for the company, which enjoys one of the most loyal customer followings in the tech industry. Moreover, Business Insider notes that “having all its customers on the same, current platform is crucial for Apple.” This rollout of iOS 8.1 beta should help speed things up.
Both the new iOS 8 operating system and A8 processor are two new introductions ushered in with the stunning new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. What new features would you like to see included with iOS 8.2?
