The new MacBook Air is finally here from Apple after being released yesterday at the 2013 WWDC (Worldwide Developer Conference). Apple keeps the same slim and sexy look that the MacBook Air is known for but gives it a big internal kick. Many Apple fans expected a retina display or HDMI port, but all the changes came strictly under the hood. The biggest and most anticipated feature of the latest generation MBA come via the new Haswell chip-set from Intel. Intel’s newest 4th generation core i-series CPU’s bring much faster performance as well as greater battery life to the new MacBook Air. Apple claims that the 13-inch MacBook Air will get up to 12 hours of battery life, while the 11-inch will get up to 9 hours, a vast improvement from previous models. Along with the improved battery life from the new Haswell processors, the Intel chips also bring greater graphics performance. The new Intel HD Graphics 5000 provides up to 40 percent faster graphics performance than the previous Intel HD Graphics 4000. Besides speed and battery upgrades, Apple has also given the new MacBook Air a Wi-Fi upgrade. The new upgrade comes via the 802.11ac supported card which is a new standard for many new and upcoming routers. So what has Apple done with the pricing? In typical Apple fashion the new models will replace the older models at the same price points. The new 11-inch MacBook Air will be available for $999 with 128GB of storage or $1,199 for 256GB. The 13-inch model will sell for $1,099 for 128GB of storage or $1,299 for 256GB. Both the 11-inch and 13-inch models of the new MacBook Air are available today directly at the Apple store online.
